Can someone undo the redaction?

No. Oddseal doesn't cover your text with a shape. It redraws every page as a new image with your redactions burned into the pixels, so there is no text, font or hidden layer underneath to recover. An independent check reads back the finished file before you can download or share it.

Does Oddseal decide what to hide?

Accepted Answer

No. It suggests freight fields and selects detected matches for review. You keep anything the recipient should see and draw a box around anything it missed. Nothing changes until you approve.

Is Oddseal faster than redacting in Adobe Acrobat?

Accepted Answer

For freight paperwork it takes fewer steps. In Acrobat you find each field yourself, apply the redactions, remove hidden information and save a new file before you can attach it. Oddseal suggests the freight fields on every page, arrives with clear-cut matches like IBANs and container numbers already selected, then rebuilds, checks and links the copy in one flow. You still review every page, and Acrobat remains the better tool when you need an editable or searchable file.

Will it find every sensitive detail?

No detector is perfect, which is why you review every page. Oddseal removes exactly what you select; a value you don't select stays visible.

Is the redacted PDF searchable?

Accepted Answer

No. Each page is a fresh image, so its text can't be searched or copied. That trade-off is what makes the redaction permanent. Keep your original for your own records.

What documents and languages does it handle?

Accepted Answer

Defined coverage includes English, Vietnamese and bilingual rate confirmations, house bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and cargo manifests. Contracts and other valid PDFs are handled on a best-effort basis. You review every proposed field before redaction.

Are my documents kept private?

Accepted Answer

The original PDF, extracted text, detected values and review stay in your browser. Only reviewed, redacted page images are uploaded. Document content is never sold, used for training or sent to external AI. Unfinished drafts expire after 14 days; verified local originals expire after the workspace interval of 1–168 hours, default 72. Cleanup runs when the app opens or returns to the foreground, so a closed browser cannot delete at an exact time. Published PDFs remain until owner deletion, which stops their share links immediately; local drafts are deleted separately.

How do Oddseal share links work?

Each redacted copy gets its own link. Choose an expiry of 3, 7, 30 or 90 days, or your own up to 90, and add a recipient label. The recipient opens the PDF in a browser without an account, and Oddseal records each open. You can revoke a link at any time and it stops working straight away; copies already downloaded stay with the recipient, and the label doesn’t verify who opens the link.

Can I redact a contract or prepare paperwork for a switch bill of lading?

Use a separate redacted copy only when it suits the recipient’s purpose. Keep complete records required for customs, payment, carriage or other official use. Oddseal does not issue or amend switch bills, and it does not decide whether a disclosure is lawful.
